It is with deep regret that we inform you that construction of the Children’s Hospital, Sri Lanka has failed despite our continued efforts.

Due to a series of unfortunate events beyond our control the project has come to a stand still and we have made the decision to withdraw from it immediately.

However, we are determined to fulfill our core objective of providing essential medical care to the children of  Sri Lanka. We feel our efforts and resources would be better recognised and appreciated elsewhere.

We have decided to affiliate with Mercy Mission, Sri Lanka, led by leading surgeons from Guys Hospital London who perform life saving operations on some of the poorest of poor children of  Sri Lanka. They have completed four missions, operated on 53 children and saved 43 lives over past three years. Each life saving operation costs approximately £1000 including drugs, etc. Their next mission is from 8th to 18th September 2007. Please visit www.mercymission.co.uk for further details. CHTAF intend to follow up the children whose lives you have helped save and perhaps device a program to sponsor their education and welfare. Thus, giving you the opportunity to witness the “miracle of life” for years to come.

We have not spent any donations received so far and all monies are secure and accountable. Please visit www.chtaf.org for details of our annual accounts.

If you have no objection to transferring your funds towards saving a child’s life please sign the attached disclaimer and return by email/fax or post it to the address shown below.

If you wish to receive a refund of your donation instead of allocating it towards saving a child’s life please inform us in writing within three months of this notice together with your name and address to send a refund cheque.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any distress this may cause you.

Thank you for your generosity and support.
